Dr. Massey presently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the Purdue Applied Research Institute (PARI) where he leads a staff of approximately 100 in conducting research across multiple disciplines. PARI is the applied research arm of Purdue University with a focus of transitioning the basic research of Purdue to products and capabilities to support Government and Industry needs. He brings a breadth of experience to the role having served as a DARPA PM, researcher and leader at 4 Aerospace and Defense companies and at an FFRDC (GTRI), and through academic leadership at RMIT in Melbourne Australia. He presently supports the SECAF through his role on the DAF Scientific Advisory Board. Has conducted internationally recognized research in the areas of smart weapons, blast survivability, ballistics, hypersonics, jet noise, small sats, and survivability. He has a PhD, MS, and BS in Aerospace Engineering all from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Fun Fact: Has eaten from the Red White & Blue jelly bean dispenser located in the Captain’s quarters on the USS Ronald Reagan.
