Mary Lou D. Ortiz is the CFO and vice chancellor for the University of California, Irvine. She manages a $6.7 billion operating and a $2.3 billion capital budget, ensuring responsible allocation of financial resources.
She previously served in senior financial and administrative roles at the Pennsylvania State University, Rutgers University-New Brunswick, Princeton University, and Columbia University. In addition to her higher education experience, she oversaw budget and financial planning at the International Rescue Committee, a global humanitarian aid, relief, and development nongovernmental organization.
Mary Lou earned her MBA, MPA, and BA from Columbia University, and is a candidate for the D.Ed. in Penn State’s higher education program.
